Electrodiagnostics + Imaging

Our office is thrilled to now be offering Electroretinogram (ERG) and Visual Evoked Potential (VEP) testing in addition to traditional ocular imaging.

These tests provide more comprehensive diagnostic information for patients suspected of vision deficits and optic nerve disease and allow us to better monitor the effects of treatment. Both tests are unique in that they do not require any verbal response from the patient, making them the only objective test of visual function.

VEP and ERG testing have been demonstrated to provide data to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic edema, amblyopia, and optic neuritis. In addition, they allow pre-verbal assessment of visual function (infants and children).

Further information for patients can be found on the Diopsys website.

Physicians and other eye care providers that would like to request electrodiagnostic testing may do so here.
